Product: HP EliteBook 840 G8 Notebook PC (19X36AV)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I can connect two monitors to a USB-C hub's HDMI ports fine, but that arrangement doesn't support 4k resolution on both ports, so I thought I'd try having one monitor connected directly to the laptop and one via the USB-C hub.
As soon as I connect a monitor to the laptop's HDMI port, the whole system freezes. If I unplug the monitor, it comes back to life.
Drivers, BIOS, etc are all up to date according to HP's tools. I've seen a couple of threads from mid-2020 about issues with HDMI on USB hubs and the Intel display drivers, but hoped they'd have fixed any driver issue by now!
Has anyone experienced, and been able to fix, this variation of the issue?
