HP ENVY x360 Laptop -15t-ed000 CTO

I purchased my HP Envy laptop a little more than 2 years ago. And the hinge for the screen has failed and resulted in cracking the screen. This is the second consecutive computer i have purchased and both had the same failure. For this one, I also purchased the HP Care package which I thought extended the warranty, however, I discovered the warranty had expired but the care package still was active, whatever that means. This seems to be a design defect in the hinge design and it is very frustrating to have experienced this situation on two machines after the warranty had expired. I checked new machines and found the hinge seems to still be the same.

So, I purchased a new Microsoft Surface laptop that has a significantly different hinge design.
