HP Envy Laptop Lid Issue – Seeking Advice from Fellow Users
Hi everyone,
I’ve always kept my HP Envy laptop in pristine condition with very minimal use. Just yesterday, after a normal browsing session, I tried to close the lid as usual before storing it in a drawer—but to my surprise, it wouldn’t shut properly. I applied gentle pressure and managed to close it, but noticed the back casing had lifted slightly. Concerned it might cause further damage, I reopened it and now I’m hesitant to close it again.
After doing some research, I discovered this seems to be a known issue with the Envy model, and apparently HP is aware of it as a manufacturing fault. Had I known earlier, I wouldn’t have invested in this device. It’s only been four years, and I’m disappointed to learn I may have to pay a significant amount to fix something that wasn’t caused by misuse.
I plan to contact HP directly, but I’d really appreciate hearing from others in the community. Do you think HP should offer a recall or compensation for this issue? Has anyone had a similar experience, and if so, how did you resolve it?
Thanks in advance for your insights!
