Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

I’m trying  to connect my laptop to my HP E24 G4 FHD Monitor but nothing seems to be working. I’ve tried updating the driver I’ve tried different HDMI cords and as of me typing this I tried using a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter but still no success all I get on my monitor is no signal and all I get from my laptop is “we didn't find another display” if anyone has any suggestions that might help please let me know. I've been told to try using a bidirectional HDMI cable but i cant find one that is compatible with my laptop
