For the past 3 months I have been encountering an issue where my laptop screen suddenly goes black while using it, although the computer is still up and running. The only way I can fix it is to force shut down everytime. Then I open back my PC and a few minutes later I get a blue screen error SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (nvlddmkm.sys). Both my Intel display driver and my Nvidia display driver are up-to-date. Last month I tried re-installing each of them in Safe Mode, the problem got fixed for a week then it happened again today. Help would really be appreciated. My current Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630 driver is version 26.20.100.6911. And my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti driver is version 27.21.14.5206. Help would really be appreciated. (I'm using a LAN internet connection) Product Number: 8BK72EA#A2N

I understand your concerns.
In that case, I would suggets you perform the system reset.
Windows 10 has a reset feature that repairs your computer by reinstalling the operating system. This feature is recommended for recovery because it reinstalls Windows 10 while either preserving your personal data and customizations or removing all your personal data.
You have a choice of two methods to reset your computer.
-
If Windows 10 loads correctly, see the section titled Perform a Windows 10 system reset in Windows in this document.
-
If Windows 10 does not start correctly, see the section titled Perform a Windows 10 system reset through Windows Recovery Environment in this document.

Welcome to HP Community
I have gone through your Post and would like to help
I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...
HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
-
Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
-
Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
-
Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
-
Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
-
Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Also ensure Windows is up to date.
Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available
Keep me posted how it goes
Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Hi KrazyToad, thanks for looking into my problem. HP Support Assistant was pre-installed with my PC and I used to use it to update drivers until it stopped detecting any outdated drivers, so I switched to another driver updater. I tried opening HPSA now and I followed your steps. I checked for updates, and it said my software was up-to-date. As I mentioned before, both of my graphic drivers are up-to-date. The problem just happened again today. Here's a picture below showing the status. My software and drivers are updated.

Hello again, and thanks for continuing to help me. As you said, I followed the steps on https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/929833/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-o... and ran the SFC Scan. The result was "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations." Then I tried running Nvidia Auto Detect Tool, and it said "The NVIDIA Smart Scan requires the latest version of Java". I checked for Java updates and my Java was up-to-date already. So I tried re-installing it from this link which was available there. But after I re-installed it I refreshed the page and the problem still persists.
The NVIDIA Smart Scan requires the latest version of Java.
My Java is up-to-date.

I understand your concerns.
In that case, please install the Java and then try for the Nvidia drivers.
