Hello, recently i have been getting the "low-power power source" error consistently when I plug in my laptop, and as a result it turns on a battery saving mode that makes everything lag super badly to the point its basically unusable. The error said to use the official HP cable which I am using, I am plugging it into the same outlets I have been plugging it into for months with previously no errors, and I dont see anything wrong with the cable or port. Laptop is an HP Pavillion 15t-eg100. Any help is appreciated

Hi @dukalma1
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Thanks for explaining everything so clearly—it’s incredibly frustrating when your laptop slows to a crawl despite using the official charger.
The "low-power power source" error you are encountering can be caused by several factors even if you are using the official HP cable and charger. Here are some steps to resolve the issue:
1. Check the AC Adapter and Power Cord:
- Ensure that the power cord is firmly connected to both the laptop and the power outlet.
- Verify that the power outlet is functioning correctly by testing it with another device.
- If you are using a power strip, try plugging the laptop directly into a wall outlet.
2. Inspect the Charging Port:
- Check the charging port on your laptop for any signs of debris or damage. Clean it gently with compressed air if necessary.
3. Update BIOS and Drivers:
- Visit the HP Support Page for your model and ensure that your BIOS, chipset, and power management drivers are up to date.
4. Check Power Settings:
- Ensure your power settings are correctly configured by going to Control Panel > Power Options. Make sure the selected power plan is not causing the system to enter a power-saving mode prematurely.
5. Test with Different Power Adapter:
- If possible, try using another HP power adapter with your laptop to determine if the issue lies with the adapter itself.
Specific Steps:
Uninstall and Reinstall the Battery Drivers:
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand the "Batteries" section.
- Right-click on "Microsoft AC Adapter" and "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" and choose "Uninstall device".
- Restart your computer. Windows will automatically reinstall the drivers.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Disconnect all external devices and unplug the power adapter.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power adapter and power on the laptop.
Run the HP Hardware Diagnostics Tool:
- Restart your laptop and press F2 repeatedly.
- In the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics menu, select "Component Tests".
- Run the "Power" tests to check for issues with the power adapter and battery.
