Hi @reach63,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your docking station!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Verify Compatibility:

  • Ensure the docking station is compatible with your laptop’s specifications and operating system.
  • Check that your laptop supports video output through the USB-C port (Alt Mode).

Check Connections:

  • Ensure that all cables are securely connected to the respective ports on the docking station, laptop, and monitors.
  • Use high-quality HDMI or DisplayPort cables as required by your docking station.

Power Supply:

  • If your docking station requires an external power supply, ensure it is plugged in and functioning properly.

Update Drivers:

  • Update your laptop’s USB-C and display drivers. You can download the latest drivers from your laptop manufacturer or Windows Update:
    • Go to Device Manager (right-click on Start button).
    • Find your USB controllers and Display adapters.
    • Right-click and choose "Update driver."

Install Docking Station Firmware/Drivers:

  • Some docking stations may require specific drivers or firmware updates. Visit the J5 Create website or check the documentation for any required software updates.

Configure Display Settings:

  • In Windows, right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings."
  • Click "Detect" to force the system to identify connected monitors.
  • Arrange the multiple displays according to your preference and ensure the correct resolution settings (4K at 60Hz).

Test with Another Device:

  • Try connecting the docking station to another laptop to see if the issue persists. This helps isolate whether the problem is with the docking station, the laptop, or the monitors.

Check Docking Station LEDs:

  • Some docking stations have LED indicators that show the status of connections. Refer to the manual to understand what each indicator light means.

Check BIOS Settings:

  • Check the BIOS settings of your laptop to ensure that USB-C and external monitor functions are enabled. Restart your computer and enter BIOS setup, usually by pressing a key like F2, F10, or Delete during startup.

I hope this helps.
