HP L1750 17-inch LCD Monitor
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,

I have problem with my old monitor. I connected it first time into my notebook (Pavilion Gaming 15-dk1005nc) with VGA to HDMI adapter, and it worked. Then notebook went to hibernate mode and when it woked up, monitor was still on sleep mode. I tried different cabels, downgrading drivers, unplugging power cord. On different PC with vga output monitor works, and adapter also works when i try for example connecting it to TV. How can I slove the issue?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hi @DavidB18 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP L1750 17-Inch LCD Monitor is not waking up from sleep mode after your notebook resumes from hibernate, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check Power Connection:

  • Ensure that both your monitor and the VGA to HDMI adapter are securely connected to power sources.

Check Video Cable Connections:

  • Confirm that the VGA to HDMI adapter is securely connected to both the monitor and the notebook.
  • Try using a different VGA to HDMI adapter or cable to rule out any issues with the current one.

Check Windows Power Settings:

  • Open the Windows 11 Power Options.
    • You can do this by right-clicking on the Start button, and selecting "Power Options."
  • Ensure that the power plan you are using is set up to allow the monitor to wake up. Look for settings related to sleep or power-saving features for the display.

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Ensure that your graphics drivers on the notebook are up to date. You can check for updates on the HP website or through Windows Update.

Windows Display Settings:

  • Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings."
  • Ensure that the correct display is selected as the main display and check the display resolution settings.

Check Monitor Settings:

  • On the monitor itself, check if there are any settings related to power-saving or sleep mode. Make sure the monitor is not set to enter sleep mode too quickly.

Try Another Monitor:

  • Connect your notebook to another monitor (if available) to see if the issue persists. This will help determine whether the issue is specific to the HP L1750 monitor or if it's a broader problem.

Windows Device Manager:

  • Open the Device Manager and check for any issues with the display adapter. Update the driver or reinstall it if necessary.

Check Notebook Lid Settings:

  • If your notebook has a lid, check the settings related to what happens when the lid is closed. Ensure that it is not configured to go into sleep mode when the lid is closed.

BIOS/UEFI Settings:

  • Check the BIOS/UEFI settings on your notebook for any power-related options. Ensure that there are no settings that might be causing the issue.
  1. Test with a Different Port:
    • If your notebook has multiple video output ports, try connecting to a different port (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.) and see if the issue persists.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
