I have a 17.3" laptop I purchased in March. I have two external monitors - one plugged into the HDMI port on the laptop and one plugged into a hub. This arrangement works just fine on my Lenovo but only the monitor plugged into the port on my HP laptop will work. The hub monitor is not recognized. I have switched monitors to ensure it isn't related to a cable issue. I've tried both the USB-c and USB-A hubs. The hubs work with the mouse and keyboard so I know the laptop is recognizing them as well. I chatted through virtual assistant and that got me nowhere...other than a recommendation to use the paid site. Any thoughts on what could be going on? Does my USB-c not support a monitor?

What is your PC 17-c0000 (2W0J6AV) ? It could be one of the following machines
For example: HP Laptop 17-cn0024nb
It ONLY has 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine,
- Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter
If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only), you can use
Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as
For more connectivity, please use
True Universal Docking Stations
