Am I able to extend my laptop to 4 monitors with the laptop lid closed? Or at least the laptop screen dark?

According to Intel, the Iris Xe graphics card can support 4 screens at 4K

Any suggestions and what would be the ideal setup?

The specs of your machine is

No way you can get external four 4K monitors without spending an arm and a leg more. Please read the following document to find out which one may fit your need (note again, you won't get four 4K external monitors, you can mix FHD, 2K and 4K).

All I am looking to do is have 4th 1920x1080 monitor to complete my setup.

Once again, thanks so much for the information you have provided me. I hope one day to be of value to other users.
