I just got an HP USB-C G5 Essentials Dock and the PC will not detect any external monitors plugged into the docking station. I have updated all drivers, including the USB-C G5 Essentials Docking station driver. Still no joy. Is this docking station compatible with my laptop? if no, what is?

What is your HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-e2000 (2J4V9AV) machine ? It could be one of the following machines
For example: HP Laptop 15-ef2013dx
which shows It ONLY has 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine,
- Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter (some hubs may have builtin chip to support this)
If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only), you can use
- Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
- Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as
For more connectivity, please use
True Universal Docking Stations
In short: your machine is NOT compatible with your HP USB-C G5 dock.
Regards.
