Hi @Milimils,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with your HP Envy x360 laptop where the mouse clicks and moves on its own. This can be quite annoying, but there are several steps you can take to try and resolve the issue.
- Update Drivers: Ensure that your mouse and touchpad drivers are up to date. You can do this through the Device Manager in Windows.
- Disable Touchpad: Try disabling the touchpad temporarily to see if the issue persists. You can usually do this through the settings or by pressing a specific function key on your keyboard.
- Clean Touchpad: Sometimes, dirt, dust, or moisture can cause erratic behavior. Use a clean, dry cloth to gently wipe the touchpad surface.
- Check for Physical Damage: Inspect your touchpad for any physical damage. Cracks or breaks could be causing the issue.
- External Mouse: If you have an external mouse, try using it instead to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the touchpad itself.
- Check for Software Issues: Sometimes, background software can interfere with the touchpad. Try booting into Safe Mode to see if the problem still occurs. If it doesn't, then a third-party application may be causing the issue.
- Perform a System Restore: If the issue started recently, you can try using System Restore to revert your system back to a previous state where the touchpad was functioning correctly.
By following these steps, you should hopefully be able to troubleshoot and resolve the issue with your HP Envy x360 touchpad.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
