@RarAxolotl, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the camera not working!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand how frustrating it can be when your camera refuses to cooperate, especially when you've already tried so many fixes. Let's go step by step and get this sorted out.

Here are a few things to check first:

  1. Restart Your Chromebook – It sounds simple, but a quick restart can fix a lot of glitches.
  2. Check Camera Permissions
    • Open Settings > Privacy and security > Site settings > Camera
    • Make sure the correct camera is selected and check if any apps/websites are blocked.
  3. Try a Different App – Test the camera in another app like Google Meet or the Camera app to see if the issue is app-specific.
  4. Check for Updates
    • Go to Settings > About Chrome OS > Check for updates
    • If an update is available, install it and restart your device.
  5. Reset Chromebook Hardware (EC Reset)
    • Turn off your Chromebook.
    • Press and hold Refresh + tap the Power button.
    • Release Refresh when your Chromebook starts up.

A couple of quick questions to understand the issue better:

  • Did the camera stop working after a recent update or change?
  • Does the camera show a black screen, an error message, or is it not being detected at all?
  • Have you tried using an external webcam to see if it works?

Let me know what you've already tried, and we’ll keep troubleshooting until we fix this! 😊

Looking forward to your reply.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
