Hi @Sepehr101,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Envy 15 is experiencing a significant issue with the display. Since you’ve already tried a hard reset and connecting to an external display without success, here are some additional troubleshooting steps you can take.
Check Display Connections: If your laptop is connected to an external monitor, ensure that you’ve selected the correct input source on the monitor (like HDMI 1, HDMI 2, etc.). If you see anything on the external display, it indicates that the issue lies with your laptop’s screen.
Force Restart: If you haven’t done so recently, hold the power button for about 10 seconds to force a shutdown. Wait a few seconds, then power it back on
Boot into Safe Mode: You can try booting into Safe Mode to see if the problem is software-related. To do this:
- Force the laptop to shut down (hold the power button).
- Power it on and immediately press the F11 key repeatedly until you see the recovery screen.
- Select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings, then press Restart. After it restarts, press 5 or F5 for Safe Mode with Networking.
Check for Hardware Issues: If the screen remains black, there might be a hardware issue, such as a faulty LCD or internal connections.
Run Diagnostics: HP laptops often come with built-in diagnostics. You can access this by pressing F2 when powering on the laptop, which will take you to the diagnostics screen. Running the tests can help identify hardware issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
