I've had a problem with my screen flickering when I move it (quite badly). It has got progressively worse, so I took it to a repair shop. He reseated the cables and it seemed to temporarily fix the issue. When it reoccurred, I took it to another repair shop and they replaced the screen. Unfortunately they used a low-end screen which caused other issues, but the flicker seemed fixed. I wanted the correct screen, so purchased and fitted the right one for the model - suddenly the flicker is back. What could possibly be causing this? It definitely seems movement related, but did not occur with the low-end screen (which was not HD). Can anyone please help me fix this? I'm tearing my hair out as I use my laptop to work and have been trying to get it fixed for over a month.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I reviewed your post and I understand that the screen flickers when you move the computer.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you update the BIOS and the graphics driver from the below link and check if it helps.

If you continue facing the issue, then replace the display cable which connects the display and the motherboard and check if it helps.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hi,
Thank you for your help. I do not believe there's any chance it's a driver issue, as I have had no problem with other screens, and it's definitely movement-based. I have tried to replace the cable but have been unable to find out what cable is needed for my make and model. Is this something you could assist me with? Moving the cable has fixed the problem currently so I believe it is the HD part of the cable, which is why the fault didn't show up on the low-end, non-HD screen.
Thank you.

Thank you. I have tried doing that but the only information I can find says that because it's out of warranty, I "may" have to pay a fee for phone support. I would not mind paying for the call as it is outside warranty, but I have no idea how much this might be. Can you offer me any further advice on this? Is it charged by the minute? Or is there a flat fee?

I recommend you choose the fee-based option and speak to the support team and they will explain to you the available options. You need to speak to the support team as I am not aware of the pricing.
Cheers!
