Hi,

Can someone help me figure out how I can get my PC to project to my LG Smart TV. The TV HDMI and USB drives work correctly b/c they  pick up my Ipad and iPhone.

I cannot get my computer to project using HDMI cord. I've tried all the basic troubleshooting techniques. The TV does not see the HDMI or ethernet as an input selection. I suspect it is something with my outputs. PC will never let me choose and output.

Please Help. I am not very good with fixing computer issues.

Thanks

@Pitt2003,

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are facing issues connecting your laptop to your TV.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.

  1. Connect the laptop to the TV with an HDMI cable.
  2. Turn on both devices.
  3. Select the correct HDMI input on the TV with the remote.

The connection between the two devices should be established automatically. But in case it doesn’t, go to Settings > System > Display and make sure “TV” is selected. You can also adjust the resolution to match the one of your television. Once that’s done, press the Windows key and the P key and then select the Duplicate option.

If you have an older laptop and TV, you’ll likely find a VGA port on both of them. VGA isn’t as good as HDMI because of the lower-resolution video quality it provides. It also only deals with the video signal, which means you’ll need a separate cable to handle the audio.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hi Thank you for the help.

I cannot find the "TV" under the display on my laptop. Once the HDMI is hooked up, the TV does not recognize the HDMI for me to pick that input. Conversely, I can not see the TV as an output from my settings.

Please help.
