Hi @Somi99 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Omen 16 laptop is displaying only 60Hz and 40Hz refresh rate options, but the official specifications mention a 144Hz display, there could be several reasons for this discrepancy. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and try to set your display to the correct refresh rate:

Update Graphics Drivers: Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. Go to the official website of your graphics card manufacturer (NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel) and download the latest drivers for your GPU.

Check Display Settings: Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings." Under the "Refresh rate" dropdown menu, see if 144Hz is listed. If not, try to see if there's an "Advanced display settings" option where you can manually set the refresh rate.

Use Graphics Control Panel: If you have a dedicated graphics card, open the control panel for that card (NVIDIA Control Panel for NVIDIA GPUs or AMD Radeon Settings for AMD GPUs). Look for display settings within the control panel and check if you can set the refresh rate to 144Hz.

BIOS/UEFI Settings: Some laptops have display settings in the BIOS or UEFI firmware. Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings by pressing the appropriate key during the boot process (usually Esc, or F2). Look for display-related settings and ensure that the correct refresh rate is selected.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
