My HP true vision HD camera only works in zoom when the laptop is open as wide as it can go.

My HP laptop running Windows 10, has an HP Truevision HD WebCam, that only works in zoom when the computer is opened as wide as it can go. So it is unuseable as the camera is then pointed at the ceiling. How can I correct this?

Try the following ...

(1) open windows <device manager> and locate your <webcam device>, right click on the webcam and click <update driver>

(2) Select to <Browse my computer for driver software>.
(3) Click <Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer>.
(4) Remove the selection from <Show compatible hardware>.
(5) Select <Microsoft> in the Manufacturer field, and select <USB Video Device> in the Model field.
(6) Click <Next> to install the webcam driver.
(7) Allow the installation of the USB Video Device, and then click <Close>.
(8) After the device has been updated to USB Video Device in <device manager>, restart your computer

(9) Test webcam again
