My Hp laptop is just over a year old and the frame in the top left corner is coming off

My hp laptop is just over a year old and the left top corner of the frame is coming off.  I treat it with care and never have dropped it.  It was a gift so not sure the exact model.  There is a code on the envelop with instructions.  Has M 86877-001 on it.  Not sure if that means anything.  I can try and get more info.
