Hi @Himanshunishad8,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP laptop camera is not running, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

Check Camera Privacy Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera.
  • Make sure the camera access for this device is turned on.
  • Also, ensure that apps you want to use the camera with have permission to access the camera.

Check Device Manager:

  • Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
  • Expand the Cameras or Imaging devices section.
  • Look for your camera. If there's a yellow triangle or red cross, it indicates a problem.
  • Right-click the camera and select Update driver.

Enable the Camera:

  • Some laptops have a physical switch or a function key that enables/disables the camera. Ensure it’s turned on.
  • Look for a key with a camera icon on your keyboard and press Fn + that key.

Run the Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  • Click on Additional troubleshooters and select Camera.
  • Run the troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.

Reinstall Camera Driver:

  • In Device Manager, right-click on your camera and select Uninstall device.
  • Restart your laptop. Windows should automatically reinstall the camera driver.
  • If it doesn’t, you can download the driver from the HP website or the camera manufacturer’s website.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  • Check for updates and install any available updates.

Use a Different App:

  • Sometimes the issue can be specific to the app you're using.
  • Try using the camera with another application (e.g., the Camera app in Windows).

Check Antivirus Settings:

  • Some antivirus software can block access to the camera.
  • Check the settings in your antivirus software to ensure that the camera is not being blocked.

If none of these steps work, there might be a hardware issue with your camera.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
