Hi @SAGAR1209

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for explaining—I'm really sorry the screen on your HP Pavilion 16-af0000 went blank during use. It’s unsettling when everything else continues working but the display goes dark.

Let’s walk through a few steps that can help restore your internal screen without affecting your data or performance.

Step-by-Step Fix for Blank Internal Display

1. Perform a Hard Reset

This clears residual power and resets display hardware.

  • Power off the laptop completely
  • Disconnect the charger and any external devices
  • Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds
  • Reconnect the charger and power on the laptop

If the screen remains blank, continue with the next step.

2. Check Display Output Settings

Sometimes the system routes video only to the external monitor.

  • Press Windows + P on your keyboard
  • Tap the arrow keys to select PC screen only, then press Enter

This forces the system to use the built-in display.

3. Update Graphics Drivers

Outdated or corrupted drivers can disable the internal screen.

This restores display communication between Windows and your hardware.

4. Run HP UEFI Diagnostics

This checks for hardware faults in the display panel.

  • Power off the laptop
  • Press Esc repeatedly, then choose F2 for diagnostics
  • Select Display Test and follow the prompts

If the test fails, the issue may be hardware-related. If it passes, the screen is likely functional and the problem is software-based.

5. Check Brightness and Display Toggle Keys

  • Press F3 or F4 to adjust brightness
  • Try F4 or F5 to toggle between display modes (depending on your keyboard layout)

These keys may have been triggered accidentally, dimming or disabling the screen.

Let me know what happens after updating the graphics driver and running diagnostics—I’ll guide you further if needed.
