Hi @SonGoku2001

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That sounds frustrating! Horizontal lines and display issues can stem from hardware problems, loose connections, or driver conflicts.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot:

Check External Display

  • Connect your laptop to an external monitor using HDMI or DisplayPort.
  • If the external display works fine, the issue is likely with your laptop’s screen or internal connections.

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
  • Hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain residual power.
  • Reconnect the power adapter and try turning it on.

Update Graphics Drivers

  • Boot into Safe Mode (Shift + Restart > Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Enable Safe Mode).
  • Open Device Manager, expand Display Adapters, and update your graphics driver.

Run HP Diagnostics

  • Turn off the laptop and press Esc repeatedly while turning it on.
  • Select F2 > System Tests > Display Test to check for hardware issues.

Check Display Cable Connections

  • If you’re comfortable opening the laptop, inspect the display cable connecting the screen to the motherboard.
  • A loose or damaged cable can cause flickering or horizontal lines.

Let me know what happens!
