HP Notebook 15-dy1071wm
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi all, For a while now my laptop starts to flicker and blackout after the goes out of Sleep. This also occurs from a Shutdown however if I was to restart the laptop the issue resolves and I can work normally.

There are times where it also just goes blurry and screen is unusable until I reboot again.

I have tried updating all my drivers but nothing seems to fix. I also updated the latest Bios update but still continue to experience the issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

I want to avoid a complete reinstall of windows if I can.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand that your notebook screen is flickering, i am glad to assist you.

Connect an external monitor and check if the issue persists.

Access the BIOS screen and check if the issue occurs on the BIOS screen.

Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.

Turn on the computer, and then immediately press the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup Menu opens.

Press F10 to open the BIOS Setup Utility.

By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware issue with the display.

Also, let us run a hardware test.

  1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
  2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
  3. Perform Component Test > Video. Share the result on your next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

If this helps, please mark the public post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.
