I have a HP Notebook. My camera was working properly but it suddenly stopped working.

- Exact model of your printer / Desktop/ notebook (if you need help, click here for information on how to find your model number model).
- Operating system (including revisions made with service packs, 32-bit or 64-bit, etc.)
- Connection method - USB, physical LAN, or wireless?
- Error messages - on the printer display and/or computer, any patterns for flashing lights.
- Any system changes before the problem starts (Example: Operating System Update, Software installation);

Hello MayS,

The craziest thing happened, my camera stopped working a few weeks ago and I first tried turning off and restarting my HP Notebook in hopes that would fix it. When that didn’t work, I was going to go to Device Manager and uninstall the camera. However the camera icon was not there.  That’s when I reached out to the HP community, when I got your response, I turned on the Notebook to look up the product ID #. I then checked Device Manager and low & behold the camera icon was there! I went to turn on the camera and now it works!!

 

Crazy right?? How is it that my camera now works without me having done anything??  My computer is now about 5 years old so I guess Its time to have it upgraded.
