@Leosmart00, Thanks for getting back to us — I know how frustrating it is when something as simple as your cursor just vanishes, especially after you've tried so much already. Let's dig a little deeper together.

Since the cursor and even "Mice and other pointing devices" aren't showing in Device Manager, it sounds like the system might not be detecting the touchpad or mouse hardware at all — almost like it's invisible to the system.

Here’s what I recommend next:

Try Safe Mode:

Hold Shift while clicking Restart on the login screen to enter Advanced Startup.

Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings and restart.

Select Safe Mode with Networking.

Check if your cursor appears in Safe Mode — if it does, it's likely a driver or software conflict.

Use an External Mouse (if not already):

Try plugging in a USB mouse. If that works and the cursor appears, we can try reinstalling touchpad drivers while using it.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

@Leosmart00, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Touchpad Drivers!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

1. Update or Reinstall Touchpad Drivers

  1. Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
  2. If "Mice and other pointing devices" isn't listed, check under Human Interface Devices.
  3. Find Touchpad or HID-compliant mouse, right-click and select Update driver.
  4. If updating doesn't help, try right-clicking and selecting Uninstall device. Restart your laptop to reinstall the drivers automatically.

2. Run Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter

  1. Press Win + I to open Settings.
  2. Go to Update & Security.
  3. Select Troubleshoot from the left pane.
  4. Run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

3. Check BIOS Settings

  1. Restart your laptop and enter BIOS/UEFI settings.
  2. Look for options related to the touchpad or internal pointing device.
  3. Ensure the touchpad is enabled.
  4. Save changes and restart.

4. Restore System

If the issue started recently, you could use System Restore to revert to a point when everything worked fine.

  1. Press Win + Q, type System Restore, and select Create a restore point.
  2. Follow the prompts to restore your system to an earlier date.

5. Check Hardware Connections

Sometimes, the touchpad or mouse might be physically disconnected.

  1. Shut down your laptop.
  2. Remove and reattach the battery (if removable).
  3. Ensure all connections are secure.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
