Hi @RobotUser12,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your OMEN gaming laptop is experiencing graphical issues that could be caused by several factors. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can often cause graphical glitches and crashes. Try updating your graphics drivers to the latest version from the HP support website or directly from NVIDIA/AMD, depending on your GPU model.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Ensure that your Windows operating system is up to date. Sometimes, system updates include fixes for hardware compatibility and performance issues.

Adjust Graphics Settings:

  • In some cases, overly aggressive graphics settings (like high resolution or anti-aliasing) can strain your GPU beyond its capabilities, leading to crashes and graphical artifacts. Try lowering the graphics settings in your games and see if the issue persists.

Check for Overheating:

  • Overheating can cause instability in laptops, especially during gaming sessions where the GPU is under heavy load. Make sure your laptop is adequately ventilated and clean from dust. You can use monitoring software to check the temperature of your CPU and GPU.

Run Hardware Diagnostics:

  • Many laptops, including OMEN by HP models, have built-in diagnostics tools that can check the health of your hardware components. Run these diagnostics to see if any issues are detected with your GPU or other hardware.

Disable Overclocking (if applicable):

  • If you have overclocked your GPU or CPU, try reverting to their default clock speeds. Overclocking can sometimes lead to instability, especially if not done properly.

Check for Background Processes:

  • Background processes or applications consuming too much CPU or memory can also affect gaming performance. Close unnecessary applications and processes before launching a game.

Reinstall or Repair Game/Application:

  • If the issue occurs only with specific games or applications, try reinstalling them or using their repair options (if available). Sometimes, corrupted game files can cause crashes and graphical glitches.

Check for Physical Damage:

  • Inspect your laptop for any physical damage, especially around the GPU area. Damage to hardware components can also cause such issues.

By systematically going through these troubleshooting steps, you should be able to identify and hopefully resolve the issue causing your games to crash and display graphical artifacts on your OMEN gaming laptop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
