Hi @Yesha8

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I'm truly sorry you're facing flickering lines every few seconds on your HP Envy x360—it must be distracting and uncomfortable to work with. Let's bring back a smooth, stable display experience with a few focused steps.

Try these steps to restore a clean, flicker-free screen:

1. Update the Graphics Driver

Outdated or mismatched drivers can cause display instability.

  • Visit the HP Envy x360 Driver Page
  • Enter your exact model number (e.g., Envy x360 15-ee1xxx)
  • Select Windows 11 and download the latest Intel or AMD graphics driver listed under “Driver-Graphics”
  • Install the driver and restart your laptop

2. Adjust Display Refresh Rate

A mismatch between the display and graphics settings can trigger flickering.

  • Right-click on the desktop > Display Settings
  • Scroll down and click Advanced display settings
  • Under “Refresh rate,” select 60 Hz or the highest available stable option
  • Apply changes and observe the screen

3. Test in Safe Mode

This helps isolate whether the issue is software-related.

  • Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and press Enter
  • Under the Boot tab, check Safe boot > Minimal
  • Restart your laptop and observe the screen behavior
  • If flickering stops, it’s likely caused by a third-party app or driver

To exit Safe Mode:

  • Open msconfig again, uncheck Safe boot, and restart

4. Connect to an External Display

Use HDMI or USB-C to connect to a monitor or TV.

  • If the external display is stable, the issue may be with the laptop’s internal screen or cable
  • If both flicker, it’s likely a graphics driver or system setting

5. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

This checks for hardware faults in the display system.

  • Press Esc during startup, then F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics
  • Select Component Tests > Display
  • Run the test and note any error codes

If the flickering persists after these steps, it may involve the internal display cable or panel. But let’s first see how your system responds to these adjustments.

Let me know what you observe, and I’ll guide you further.
