@Timjb I suggest you remove or disable the hybrid sleep and hibernation using the below steps:

Also, Please ensure the complete product name/number for a quicker response from the community, as we need to know what we are dealing with to provide an accurate solution: Click here for steps on finding the information we need!

Remember: Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

  1. Open up Power Options in the Control Panel. In Windows 10 you can get there from right clicking on the start menu and going to Power Options
  2. Click Change plan settings next to your current power plan
  3. Change "Put the computer to sleep" & "turn off the display" to never
  4. Click "Save Changes"

Once done,

  1. Open up Power Options in the Control Panel. In Windows 10 you can get there from right clicking on the start menu and going to Power Options
  2. Click "change plan settings" next to your current power plan
  3. Click "change advanced power settings"
  4. Click the + sign next to "Sleep"
  5. Click the + sign next to "Allow hybrid sleep" and change setting to "off"
  6. Click OK

And also perform the below steps:

  • Run CMD as Administrator, and type the following:
  • powercfg hibernate off
  • hit enter to disable hibernation.
  • restart the computer and it should resolve the issue.

If it doesn't, please connect an external monitor to your device and check if the screen blacks out.

Let me know how that pans out,
