HI @Camden2431,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the black screen with a blinking Caps Lock light on your HP Victus Gaming Laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Hard Reset the Laptop:
- Disconnect all external devices like USBs, printers, and other peripherals.
- Remove the power cable and the battery (if removable).
- Press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery and power cable, then try turning the laptop on again.
Check the RAM:
- If you're comfortable opening your laptop, try reseating the RAM modules. This involves removing them and reinserting them securely.
- If possible, test with one RAM stick at a time (if your laptop has more than one) to see if a specific module is causing the issue.
Reset BIOS:
- If you can access the BIOS menu by pressing Esc or F10 during startup, try resetting the BIOS to default settings.
Connect to an External Monitor:
- Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV via HDMI to check if the display works externally. This can indicate whether it's a screen issue or something else.
Perform a BIOS recovery:
- Power off the laptop, then press and hold the Windows + B keys simultaneously while pressing the power button for 2-3 seconds.
- Release the power button but keep holding the Windows + B keys until you hear beeping sounds or the screen shows HP BIOS Update.
I hope this helps.
