  • My laptop powers on and the keyboard backlight turns on, but the screen does not display anything. The screen remains completely black. Please check if it is a display, RAM, motherboard, or graphics issue.

Hi @pavani045,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen works initially but stops working after a few days, and you’re unable to re-pair it, even when the battery is fully charged. Here’s a clear troubleshooting guide you can follow:

Fully reset the pen

Turn off the pen by pressing and holding the top button for ~5 seconds.

Press and hold the top button for 10–15 seconds to perform a full reset.

Release the button and wait a few seconds before proceeding.

Forget the pen from Windows

Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices.

If the HP Pen appears, click Remove device to forget it.

This clears stale pairing data that can prevent reconnection.

Repair the pen

Turn the pen back on (press the top button until the light comes on).

Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Add device > Bluetooth.

Select the HP Pen from the list to pair.

If it doesn’t appear, hold the top button for ~5 seconds to enter pairing mode.

Check pen firmware

Open HP Support Assistant > Updates.

Check for firmware updates for the pen or your laptop’s pen drivers.

Updating firmware often fixes disconnection or pairing issues.

Battery and charging check

Fully charge the pen for 2–3 hours, even if it shows full.

Use the original USB cable and port.

A partially degraded battery can cause intermittent functionality despite reporting 100%.

I hope this helps.
