@Laptop0711, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I understand you're experiencing an issue where your HP 15-e2000 laptop screen turns off suddenly and doesn't come back on unless you force a shutdown. This could be due to a hardware connection issue between the display and the motherboard, or a software/firmware glitch. Let's try the following steps to isolate and resolve the issue:
Perform a Hard Reset
This helps clear any temporary hardware miscommunication.
- Turn off the laptop completely.
- Disconnect the power adapter and remove any external devices.
- Press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power adapter and try turning it on.
Check for Display Issues
- Connect your laptop to an external monitor using HDMI.
- If the external display works fine while the laptop screen remains off, it confirms a display or cable issue.
Update BIOS and Graphics Drivers
Outdated BIOS or graphics drivers can cause display malfunctions.
- Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
- Enter your product number.
- Download and install the latest BIOS and graphics drivers available for your model.
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
HP provides built-in diagnostics to check for hardware issues.
- Turn off the laptop.
- Press Esc repeatedly, then F2 to open the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
- Run the Display Test and System Test to check for hardware faults.
Inspect the Hinge and Display Cable
Since you mentioned the issue occurs when opening the screen, it could be a loose or damaged display cable near the hinge.
- If you're comfortable, you can gently adjust the screen angle and observe if the display flickers or turns off.
- Otherwise, I recommend visiting an HP Authorized Service Center for a physical inspection. HP® Service Center Locator - India | HP® Support
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
