While working my latop (HP Pavilion 15-ab153nr) screen turned white without a cursor but the audio was still playing , I tried restarting File explorer by shortcuts, or restarting the graphic driver by (Win+Ctrl+Shift+B) I heared the beeb sound but nothing happened. So, I restarted it and it gave me black screen but everything else working fine it's just the laptop screen not working . I plugged another monitor and it has worked . so I did as follows:

  • reinstalled latest driver of my laptop from hp drivers website
    • when i restarted after installation the laptop screen worked until login page but after logging  in either it gave me black or white screen -i tried this many times- and it works in random sometimes the monitor starts or the laptop screen starts then i moved to next steps
  • I reseated my ram and cleaned it well,
  • made hard reset my laptop I unplugged the battery and the AC and clicked the power button over 15s and even left it a whole night without a battery and nothing worked
  • I enabeled low resolution video still only the external monitor starts
  • I enabled safe boot still it starts up from the monitor
  • So I went to troubleshot page and made reset my windows and all apps got deleted that made it work in random too sometimes the external monitor works or the laptop screen
  • after last step i made Bios flash drive from hp drivers and i installed it from the steps:
    • turn off
    • click (WIN + B + power button) for 2 sec and it strated from laptop screen and updated the bios succefully
    • i restarted it many times and thankfully it worked well UNTILL
  • Ii installed AMD drivers and after few hours the same problem happend to me from point Zero
  • i tried some steps again like reinstalling the driver even updated the bios again through the flash but still not working now

so what could be the problem should i clean install a new windows or what is that ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Mo-Refaat,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing an issue with a blank screen problem on your HP Pavilion 15-ab153nrThe screen is not turning on Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

May I know

Do you see an HP Logo when you try to turn on the unit and then the screen goes blank or blue screen, If Blue screen Have observed any error message?

Or the unit is not turning On at all

Do You see a light glowing on the power button and next to the charging Port?

Please try the following Troubleshoots steps.

1.    Turn off the Unit.

2.    Disconnect the AC adapter.

3.    Remove any discs from the disc drive.

4.    Remove memory cards from the card reader slot.

5.    Disconnect all nonessential peripheral devices, such as printers, scanners, external hard drives, and USB flash drives.

6.    Disconnect the AC adapter press and hold the power button for approximately 15 seconds.

7.    Reconnect the AC adapter, and then turn on the computer.

Step 2

Turn off the unit and please press and hold the Windows key + letter B key and the power button together for 30 seconds after 30 seconds, 1st release the power button but keep holding the Windows key and B key for ten more seconds and then release these two keys If done correctly, you will see the display flashing once. Please attempt it thrice as this step and Restart the unit

Step3

The unit has to be turned off, Press Win+ V while holding these two keys then Press the Power button, continue to hold all three keys for 30 seconds and then release the Power button first and then release these two keys Please attempt it thrice  and then you may get a Pop-Up CMOS Check and it will restart the unit

Even if you don't get a Pop-up restart the unit manually after 3 attempts.

I hoped if u would have invested some time reading my post instead of copy pasting a whole article with steps i already did and i have done all what you said already and the problem return after few hours of use

After reseating ram and clean reseting windows and updating to latest version and updating my bios it worked for less than a day and it gave me a white screen and returns to point zero from what i mentioned on my previous post

I did all other steps following the virtual assistant from hp and that's exactly what u have mentioned and also exactly what i said clearly i have done all of that without working ..
