Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.
I understand that the HP keyboard does not work on your laptop. You have downloaded the drivers and tried changing computer settings, but that didn't help. You've done a remarkable job performing the steps.
I would like to know the following information to assist you better:
- Please let me know the exact keyboard and the laptop's model no. This link will help you to find the model no: http://hp.care/2bygf7l
- Do you have any other keyboard that works fine on this computer?
- Please connect the keyboard to another computer (if available) and check if the keyboard works fine.
Please feel free to reply. I'm always here to assist you. Cheers! 🙂

so i have the HP Pavilion g7 Notebook PC and the serial number is (removed content) and the product number is B7T26UA#ABA the keyboard however is not a hp product, it's a DBPOWER keyboard and the model number on that is k958. i've had a friend try it on his computer and it worked just fine for him and also the keyboard im using is just the standard on board laptop keyboard but i'd like to be able to use a usb keyboard for comfort and for online gaming.

Thank you for replying with the information.
Your laptop is an HP Pavilion g7-1330dx Notebook PC and it originally came with Win7. Later you may have upgraded it to Win10.
I read that the keyboard worked fine on another computer. Therefore, let us confirm that the USB ports on the laptop are good.
- Please try connecting the keyboard to other USB ports and check if it works fine.
- Connect other USB devices like a flash drive or a USB mouse to the laptop and check if they work fine.
- Also, check if the keyboard is compatible with Win10 operating system.
Meanwhile, you may download and run the HP Support Assistant program on your laptop. This program will also look for any missing drivers and help to get them installed.
Hope this helps. Let me know how this pans out. Cheers! 🙂

Your HP laptop has USB 2.0 ports. I'm not sure if the keyboard is USB 2.0 or 3.0. But if the keyboard is USB 3.0 compatible then it may not work. Again this is just a possibility.
Let me know the keyboard USB port type (USB 2.0 or 3.0)
Cheers! 🙂
