The name of my pc is : HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC N210eo
After i updated windows 10 recently (Windows 10 update, version 1709 i believe) my HD 8670m graphic card stopped working, and im only running on the APU onbord graphics HD 8610G, which isn´t to great, i can´t even enjoy a youtube video without lagging.
I tried updateing the BIOS to the newest ones, and afterwards downloading the newest Driver for the graphic card (8670m) but it still refuses to work. I went the troubleshooting and tested the card, it is fully functional but somthing seems to be holding it back from working.
Can somone help me with this issue please. I use this notebook as my main pc, as a full time student it is horriable not being able to even use Facebook, or watch a youtube video with out a constant delay, and lagg spikes.
Im aweare that it might just be AMD who i need to wait for to give out new drivers, but is there really notthing i can do ? should i just sit and wait for maybe months until they may or may not give out a update. (and what if they don´t am i stuck with a fully functional graphic card that cant be used ? ~ would be tragic) :smileysad::robotsad:
Help please.
~ Thanks in advance for your time and help.

Hello Everyone
So i found a solution for this issue, according to the AMD community forum, APU´s isn´t supported yet for Fall creatures update, i was told they plan to make a update for it soon.
The issue can be resolved by going back to the previous windows 10 build version. (deleting the update seems to mess up some windows files try to avoid doing that)
Go to Windows update -> Update overview -> (there is 2 options here either delete a update or "go back to previous version" i recommend going back to previous version, seemes to be safest) chose the one you wish, and follow windows instructions.
Side Note: After going back to previous windows build, i recommend turning off "windows automatic update" until AMD release the new driver updates for APU´s. (Expect a few months time, since most APU´s are Legacy products)
(sorry if the names of the options isn´t a 100% correct, my Windows isn´t in english so i did a gross translation)
Best of luck to anyone having issues, may your issues get resolved fast.
Kind regards ~KekzKing

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.
I understand that you have an HP Pavilion 15-n210eo Notebook. I read that post the Windows 10 update- 1709, the drivers for the AMD Radeon HD 8670M are absent. The laptop is operating on the APU onboard graphics HD 8610G. You've done a remarkable job performing the steps.
I did some research and found the updated drivers on the AMD website. The updated drivers for the AMD Radeon HD 8670M can be downloaded and installed from this link: AMD Drivers and Support | AMD
Secondly, you may also download and run the HP Support Assistant tool. This tool will detect and missing drivers and search for them online to be installed on your laptop.
I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Feel free to keep me posted. Good luck! 🙂

Dear MKazi
Thank you for your time, i appreciate the time used to help me.
Unfortunately this didn´t resolve my issue, after downloading that driver package, my HD 8670m became a "8600m" series driver. So i used windows to update it back to HD 8670m, so i am back where i started, windows tells me the driver i have is functional and my troubleshooting tests tells me my graphic card(s) is functional, but i can´t activate it anymore, not since the new windows update. So somhow the HD 8670m graphic card became unable to be used with the Catalyst Control Center which is the only way to activate it (by useing "crossfire") as far as i know. Also i have the HP Support Ass. Tool installed, it doesn´t have any drivers or updates for me.
I´m not sure what i can do about this issue, im thinking my only other option is to delete the update and go back to what i used to have, and hope that it resolves the issue?
Unfortunately that would however maybe put me in danger of hacking/virus attacks since the security also probbaly was updated ?

Greetings @kekzKing, I am the @Chimney_83. It looks like you were interacting with @MKazi, but he is out of the office today so I'll take over from here.
Thanks for the reply, recommend you install the AMD driver from this link and check.
To control the settings on the computer using dual AMD GPU, refer to this HP Article.
Keep me posted. Good Luck.

Dear Chimney_83
Thanks for the replay, and i appreciate the time you have used to help me.
Unfortunately after installing and running the Drivers (after reboot) from the Link, nothing changed, im in the same situation the Driver is functional but when i activate my crossfire it doesn´t show up (i have had this laptop for some years now this method of activateing Crossfire have always worked in the past), it is in "un-useable state".
I read the Article aswell, for me this is just useing Catalyst Control Center , which is what i am doing already, it says my dual graphics is activated but they aren´t i can clearly feel that when seeing a video or doing anything graphically demanding.
I have been trying to find a way to active the HD 8670m graphic card without useing Catalyst Control Center (i have deleted and reinstalled this program but with no luck, the program seems to not be the issue) but with no luck.
Useing Catalyst Center seems to be the only way to normally active my dual graphics, and this way isn´t activateing it anymore for me. I used different screening software to check if it is just a visual bug and that i am useing Crossfire but i just can´t "see it". But no all application i have ran which screened my laptop said im only useing HD 8610G (on bord graphics)
Best regards KekzKing

Thanks for the reply and trying the suggested steps. Do you have the power adapter connected to your computer when you try to use the main GPU?
If the issue persists, perform a push button reset. Click here.
Keep me posted. Good Luck.

Dear Chimney_83
Yes, i use the original charger, and i have it plugged in when trying to activate my dual GPU.
Thanks for the suggestion, but im holding myself bad from takeing this step since i might risk loseing some of my personal files (even though it says my files will be fine).
Things tend to go wrong in this stuff and i don´t want to risk that, since this is unfortunately my only pc, and i use it for studying i don´t want to lose any of my files. Ofcus i could just make a copy of them but that would take a lot of time and i might forget to copy somthing important, and loseing anything right now would be devastating for my study.
So my question is: would it be unresponsable of me to just delete the update that gave all of these issues? with your expertise could this possible fix my issues? or is it waste of time?
Thanks for your time and help, i appreciate it very much.
