HP Notebook - 14-df0023cl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My screen goes to sleep after 30 or 40 seconds. The display and power settings have no effect on how long the screen stays on. A windows 10 operating system build 22H2 was recently installed and the technician who loaded the Windows 10 OS is stumped as well. All drivers are up to date per the HP driver scan.

Picked up a 64gb flash drive and proceeded to work my way through the cloud recovery tool process. Had to go into computer setup and change the boot order and I don't think the cloud recovery tool mentions this. It only asked that you disable secure boot. It took around 3 to 4 hours for me to get through the process. Longer than it should have because I reformatted my SSD several times before realizing I was rerunning the same script. So I am back up and running and my power settings are working as they should. And I am very pleased how well the tool worked and only wish I had contacted the HP support community first before taking my laptop into a local service technician who couldn't help with my issue. I will be paying them another visit and will request a refund based on their lousy service.

So I owe you a debt of gratitude BeemerBiker for the great direction you provided. Thank you!

I looked through all the BIOS versions and version F.61 was released to support Windows 10 v20h2.

The latest BIOS is F.75 there was no mention of 21h2 or 22h2

I suspect you need to revert to 20h2 or contact support and ask of 22h2 is to be supported.

You might consider a factory restore. Unless I am mistaken, your product ID is 5JV97UA#ABA and your system has cloud recovery to factory specifications and all software.

Thanks for your response BeemerBiker. I clicked on the link and installed the cloud tool but when I click run I get another window saying I need to be logged in as an administrator which I am. The window also says to right click on the cloud recovery tool and choose run as administrator but that doesn't work either. From you BIOS analysis it seems the best solution would be to reload Windows 10 v20h2.

Borrow another computer (Library or friend) and download to 16gb flash drive.

There is something wrong on your system so admin not recognized

Use cloud recovery if at all possible as you will get the correct drivers an not have to hunt for them

I finally got the cloud restore tool to open but the window says I need a 32gb flash drive. I have a 16gb flash drive but not a 32gb. So will have to acquire a 32gb FD before running the program unless I can use the SD drive?

Must be a lot of bloatware on the factory setup.  Windows 10 and 11 are about 10gb

I have this issue with a HP All in One 27" display. Power settings do nothing to change it. It goes off after 30 seconds of no use.
