@Cherese2, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding screen flickering at high brightness on HP monitors!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Screen flickering can be caused by various issues such as improper cable connections, power settings, or even hardware compatibility. Here are some troubleshooting steps to address screen flickering when the brightness is above 50%:

Steps to Troubleshoot Screen Flickering:

Check Power Cord Connection:

  • Ensure that the power cord is securely connected to both the monitor and the power outlet.
  • If the monitor is off, press the Power button to turn it on.

Check Video Cable Connection:

  • Verify that the video cable is properly connected between the monitor and the computer. Make sure the computer power is off while connecting the video cable.

Disable Auto-Switch Input:

  • Open the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu.
  • Select the Input Control menu.
  • Set Auto-Switch Input to Off and manually select the input source.

Adjust Brightness:

  • Open the OSD menu.
  • Select Brightness and adjust the brightness scale to a suitable level.

Check for Compatibility Issues:

  • Sometimes, video resolution and/or refresh rates higher than what the monitor supports can cause flickering. Change the settings to a supported resolution and refresh rate.

Factory Reset:

  • If you continue to experience issues, you can try resetting the monitor to its factory settings. Open the OSD menu, select Management, and choose Factory Reset.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
