Hi @JoShewa,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the touchpad on your HP Stream Notebook is not working after reinstalling Windows 10 Pro, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Check Device Manager:
- Open Device Manager by pressing Win + X and selecting "Device Manager."
- Look for any yellow exclamation marks or unknown devices, especially under "Mice and other pointing devices."
- If the touchpad is not listed, there might be a hardware issue, or the device might be disabled in the BIOS.
Enable Touchpad in BIOS:
- Restart your computer and enter the BIOS settings. This is usually done by pressing a key like F2, F10, or Del during the boot process (the key may vary depending on your device).
- Navigate to the "Advanced" or "Advanced Configuration" section.
- Look for an option related to the touchpad or pointing device and make sure it's enabled.
Update BIOS:
- Visit the HP support website for your specific model and check if there is a BIOS update available. If yes, download and install it following the provided instructions.
Reinstall Touchpad Drivers:
- Go to the HP support website for your laptop model.
- Download the latest touchpad driver for your operating system.
- Install the downloaded driver and restart your computer.
Windows Update:
- Ensure that Windows is fully updated. Sometimes, Windows Update can provide necessary driver updates.
- Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Windows Update" and check for updates.
Check Touchpad Settings:
- Go to "Settings" > "Devices" > "Touchpad" and ensure that the touchpad is enabled and configured according to your preferences.
System Restore:
- If the issue started after a recent change, you can perform a system restore to revert your system to a previous state.
- Type "Create a restore point" in the Windows search bar, click on the result, go to the "System Protection" tab, and click "System Restore."
Check for Physical Damage:
- Ensure there is no physical damage to the touchpad. If it's a hardware issue,
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-
