My camera appears to have stopped working and I initially noticed this when I stopped being able to log in using facial recognition.
I have run the diagnostics in the HP Support Assistant and it report the camera is okay until I ask to view the image and a white screen is shown. Does this indicate the camera has failed?
Thanks
Paul

@PauloKay, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Your camera hardware seems to be detected and reported as working in diagnostics, but the white screen suggests a software issue rather than a complete hardware failure. Try these steps:
Check Privacy & Permissions
Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera
Ensure Camera Access is ON and apps have permission
Update/Reinstall Camera Drivers
Open Device Manager (Win + X > Device Manager)
Expand Imaging Devices or Cameras
Right-click HP True Vision FHD Camera > Uninstall
Restart your laptop—Windows will reinstall the driver
Check Windows Camera App
Open the Camera app (Win + S, search "Camera")
If it's blank or shows an error, try resetting it:
Settings > Apps > Installed Apps > Camera > Advanced options > Reset
Update Windows & HP Software
Install any pending Windows Updates
Run HP Support Assistant to check for firmware updates
Also, refer to this guide: HP PCs - Troubleshoot the webcam (Windows 11 and Windows 10) | HP® Support
