Hi @ENVY1984
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
I understand how it can feel when the touchscreen is not responding as expected, and dont worry I'll be glad to help you with this.
To assist you better, could you kindly provide the exact HP model number (Click here for steps ) of your device?
Additionally, please help us with the following details:
- Does the touchscreen fail completely, or does it work intermittently?
- Have you noticed any error messages in Device Manager related to the touchscreen?
- Have you already tried restarting the computer or performing Windows updates?
In the meantime, you may try these steps:
- Restart the laptop and test the touchscreen again.
- Run Windows Update and install all available updates.
- Open Device Manager - Human Interface Devices and check if the touchscreen device is listed and enabled.
- Use HP Support Assistant to check for and install any driver or BIOS updates.
You can also find the troubleshooting steps in this HP document: Solving Touch Screen Problems
I hope this helps.
I'm an HP Employee.
