I bought a docking station for my laptop, but since my laptop doesn't support the connection with the USB-C port, it doesn't recognize any displays.
What is the best docking station I can use with my laptop (HP Laptop 17- cn2063cl) and two monitors? Would it be better to just connect to one of my HDMI ports and get a USB to HDMI adapter for the 2nd monitor, and bypass the docking station altogether? If so, what's the best USB to HDMI adapter, or does it matter?

I can't find its official specs, only on eBay and some unknown shops. It should have all ports like its sister
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06294077
It ONLY has 1 hopeless USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate) port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine,
- Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter (some hubs may have builtin chip to support this)
If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only-total 3), you can use
- Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
- Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

Thanks...I saw this response on another similar question. So for my HP laptop, there is no docking station option, right?
The USB-HDMI adapter seems the best option, but your link goes to a product at Amazon that's no longer available. Is there any other adapter that would work? And the prices vary so much...will any USB-HDMI adapter work?

Well, I think i'm SOL on this laptop connecting to two monitors, unless anyone else has any specific recommendations.
I can connect one monitor via the HDMI port on the laptop. But the USB-A and USB-C ports are worthless. The specs say the USB-A does not support displays, so an adapter wouldn't work. And a tech support guy looked up the specs and said the USB-C may possible support 1.4 display, but I've now got a USB-C docking station and a USB-C to HDMI adapter, and neither worked.
Would really like to connect to two monitors, but I don't see how. Is there an HDMI splitter that extends, to use the one HDMI port on my laptop to a splitter that connects to two monitors? Grasping at straws now...

I'm not sure if anyone from HP monitors this board, but I'm just looking for a definitive answer. From what I can tell, my laptop won't work with any docking station, and can only extend to one monitor using the HDMI port on the laptop to the monitor.
I was hoping I could extend to two monitors, but I'd just like confirmation that my laptop can only extend to one monitor. Thanks.
