Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP laptop 14-cf1051od and have tried three different adapter to go from a USB type C to HDMI with none of them working. Do you have a recommendation of one that will work this this computer model?

Thanks

Hello @Pat771,

Unfortunately, the reason why you can't get any USB-C to HDMI adapters working is that the USB-C port doesn't support DP Alt mode, which is required for video output support on the USB-C port.

You can check this out in the computer's specifications:  HP Notebook - 14-cf1051od Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support

Sorry about that.

Can I do it off the regular USB port, to HDMI?

For users without a second display output port, I usually do recommend the following product:

Amazon.com: StarTech.com USB 3.0 to HDMI Display Adapter Converter 1080p (1900x1200) Dual / Multi-Mo...

People who I recommended this to have reported back positive results. However, the only concern I have with your device is that according to the notebook's specifications, the USB ports are listed as "2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Data transfer only)".

You can try it out and return it since Amazon has a flexible return policy.
