After every boot I get a window in lower right corner "HP Display Control". I downloaded the files which were copied to my hard drive under a SWSetup folder. Four sub-folders were created. What do I do next? no instruction were provided.

I followed your link, I installed the HP Display Center, all is good but it's different from what I asked about. My problem is with HP Display Control not Center, it's different. By the way, I rebooted after installing HP Display Center and the little window is still popping up asking to download and install HP Display Control. I can download the file but there is no installation instruction provided.

I called HP SmartFriends at 844-814-1800, I talked to a nice lady. Before I called her I was able to successfully install HP Display Control service software update by going to C drive, open SWSetup folder, go to SP140175 subfolder. Execute HPServvice_Setup.exe. It finished with a window saying HP Display Control Service Setup Installation complete. I rebooted, still I was getting the window asking me to download & install HP Display Control. The lady on the phone told me to disable it. I went into Task Manager, Startup tab, Lookup HP Display Control, right click, disable, that's it. I rebooted and the window is not showing anymore. If I go on search and type HP Display Control I get the window to change display settings, so everything works.
