Troubleshooting black screen issues on HP Notebooks: Click here to view the instructions!

Pavilion 15-CS3020ca
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This computer has a HDMI port and a USB-C port. However, most specifications on this computer show the USB-C as "data only". This assumes no charge capability. But can it provide a video output if routed to a generic port replicator (obviously with video capability)?

I require two monitors, and can use the existing HDMI for one, and hope I can use the USB-C through the replicator for the other. Has anyone done this or know if it is possible?

@LV5

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, After reading your post, I did go through the Product specifications of your product and found that you have 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate); 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A (Data Transfer Only); 1 AC smart pin; 1 HDMI 1.4b; 1 headphone/microphone combo; 1 RJ-45  installed on the PC.

To get the answer to this question, the USB ports on this model does not support video output.
