HP Laptop 14-dk0002dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Recently purchased this laptop.  It has a HDMI port which works fine.   However, when I connected any one of several USB-C to HDMI adapters to the USB-C port it won't recognize its connected to the second monitor.  Only the built-in laptop monitor and the built-in hdmi ports work.

I connected a USB-C 'docking hub' to the USB-C port and the USB ports it has work just fine.  But neither of the hdmi ports on the hub work.

Any thoughts?

Its specs

   https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06429939

It has

1 HDMI 1.4b; 1 headphone/microphone combo;

1 RJ-45; 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Data transfer only);

1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate);

1 AC smart pin

As you can see, the USB-C above does not support video out (HDMI alt mode) therefore USB-C to HDMI won't work with USB-C dock or w/o USB-C dock.

Regards.
