HP ENVY x360 - 15m-bq121dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

New GPU drivers are finally available to us X360 Envy Ryzen owners.  But it seems it's missing the actual display drivers, and only installs Radeon settings.

How do we notify HP of this issue?

Hi:

Assuming you are referring to the AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver (Windows 10 v1803), sp88730, I downloaded the file, and broke down the exe file into its driver folder using 7-Zip.

With a file size of 422 MB, I felt there had to be display drivers in that package, and there are.

They can be found in sp88730>base>U0329496 setup information file.

Your model has the RX Vega 8 graphics adapter, correct?

The driver setup information file contains support for the following Vega graphics adapters...

AMD15DD.1 = "AMD Radeon(TM) RX Vega 10 Graphics"
AMD15DD.2 = "AMD Radeon(TM) Vega 8 Graphics"
AMD15DD.3 = "AMD Radeon(TM) Vega 3 Graphics"
AMD15DD.4 = "AMD Radeon(TM) Vega 6 Graphics"
AMD15DD.5 = "AMD Radeon(TM) RX Vega 10 Graphics"
AMD15DD.6 = "AMD Radeon(TM) Vega 8 Graphics"
AMD15DD.7 = "AMD Radeon(TM) Vega 3 Graphics"
AMD15DD.8 = "AMD Radeon(TM) Vega 6 Graphics"
AMD15DD.9 = "Radeon RX Vega 10 Graphics"
AMD15DD.10 = "Radeon RX Vega 8 Graphics"
AMD15DD.11 = "Radeon RX Vega 3 Graphics"
AMD15DD.12 = "Radeon RX Vega 6 Graphics"

Something must have gone wrong with the installation, and the drivers didn't get installed.

See if you can manually update the graphics driver as follows...

Go to the device manager, click to expand the Display Adapters device manager category.

Click on the AMD graphics adapter listed there.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.

That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp88730.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and see if the driver installs that way.

Then restart the PC.

Thank you.  That info helped me with installing manually.  For some reason, Windows doesn't find the driver, and manually selecting the inf file works.  Thank you for specifying the exact file.

Looks like we finally have color saturation settings with these new drivers.  I hope these fix the video playback issues and green pixelation.  I'll report back if those problems still exist.

You're very welcome.

Since I don't work for or represent HP, if you have further issues, I suggest you contact the HP Executive Team at the link below, report any issues with the driver, and they will refer the problem to the appropriate department.
