Hi,
Today I purchased a HP 27 FHD Monitor Screen for my home office (M27F).
When connected to my 2022 Apple pro, via HMDI, I note that the screen continues to flicker between colour tones (yellowish to bright white).
It's rather distracting, and before I contemplate returning the screen for a refund I thought I'd see if there is anything I can do to fix this? Note, I use the exact same connections for my samsung monitor in my study and it's not once had this issue.
regards
Ro

Hi @Ro1999,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The issue you're experiencing with your HP 27" FHD Monitor (M27F) flickering between color tones can be caused by several factors. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
1. Check Cable Connections
- HDMI Cable: Ensure that the HDMI cable is securely connected at both ends. Sometimes a loose connection can cause display issues.
- Try a Different Cable: If possible, try using a different HDMI cable to see if the issue persists. Cables can sometimes be faulty.
2. Update Display Drivers
- MacBook Pro: Ensure your MacBook Pro has the latest updates installed. Apple frequently releases updates that can fix compatibility issues with external displays.
- HP Monitor: While monitors typically don't require driver updates, check the HP support site to see if there's any firmware update available for your model.
3. Adjust Display Settings
- System Preferences: Go to System Preferences > Displays on your MacBook Pro. Adjust the resolution and refresh rate settings. Sometimes, setting it to a lower resolution or different refresh rate can stabilize the display.
- Color Profile: Try changing the color profile of the monitor in System Preferences > Displays > Color. Select a different profile and see if it reduces the flickering.
4. Monitor Settings
- Factory Reset: Use the monitor's built-in menu to perform a factory reset. This can often resolve display issues caused by incorrect settings.
- Color Settings: Adjust the color settings on the monitor itself. Look for any features like "Dynamic Contrast" or "Eco Mode" and try turning them off.
5. Interference and Power Supply
- Power Supply: Ensure the monitor is plugged into a stable power source. Unstable power can sometimes cause flickering.
- Electromagnetic Interference: Ensure there are no devices nearby that could cause interference, such as large speakers or other electronic devices.
6. Test with Another Device
- Different Device: Connect the monitor to a different device (like another computer or a gaming console) using the same HDMI cable. This can help determine if the issue is with the monitor or the original device.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
