HP ENVY 16 inch Laptop PC 16-h0000 (534C7AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,

The display on my new HP Envy 16 laptop becomes blank for a sec sporadically when using the laptop. I have run some of the diagnostics provided in BIOS and HP assistant and all test related to display have passed. Please suggest what I can do to resolve the issue.

Thanks!

Hello @ChiragChirag

(1) Double check with external monitor connected via vga/hdmi cable.

Shutdown notebook

- Power off external monitor

- Connect vga/hdmi cable

- Power on external monitor

- Power on notebook

Is the external monitor also sporadically blanked for a second ?

I am not using any external monitor, the issue happens with the laptop screen.

Hello @ChiragChirag

Borrow a monitor (and vga/hdmi cable) from a friend/neighbor/acquaintance. The test should determine whether the GPU or screen of the notebook is defective.

Kind regards

Thanks! for the help but I am returning the laptop, as I don't think i should face this type of issue with a new laptop and it also made me worried about long term stability of the machine. Not sure if i got a bad machine or its issue with the design of the machine.
