Hello all, unfortunate to have to post here but i've spent all day looking over my brand new out of the box laptop and unable to gain any ground.
I simply do not get any picture on the screen on boot. The system loads up and the windows 10 install starts with cortana, and I can see the screen backlight kicking on, but nothing displays at post or when booted into the windows install. Attaching a HDMI monitor doesn't work either.
Any way to reset the bios or change the primary video output?
Thank you in advance.

@ philburg2Welcome to HP Community!
I understand that the HP omen laptop display is blank while booting.
Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.
Please perform the below steps and check.
Hard Reset:
1) Shutdown the computer.
2) Unplug all the Adapter and peripherals connected.
3) Remove the Battery. ( not for Built-in Battery computer )
4) Press and hold down the power button for 15 to 20 seconds.
5) Plug-in the Adapter and put the Battery back into the computer if it's a (removable battery)
6) Try to turn on the computer and check, If the issue persists continue next step
If the issue still persists, perform the below steps:
Press the Windows key and then followed by the key "B" this time and then the power button for around 3-4 seconds, then release the power button and continue to hold windows+B for 3-4 seconds more.
Alos perform the system test.
Make sure the issue is not hardware related by performing diagnostic tests.
-
In Windows, search for and open the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows app.
If the app is not installed on your computer, download the latest version from the HP Hardware Diagnostics website.
-
On the main menu, click System Tests.
-
Click the System Fast Test tab.
-
Click Run once.
While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component display on the screen.
-
If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) and contact HP Customer Support. The information is also available in the Test Logs on the main menu.
If no system component failed, continue with these steps.
-
On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostic app, click System Test, and then click System Extensive Test. The Extensive Test might take several hours to complete.
let me know how that pans out,
And the answer to the above question will help me, help you!
Keep me posted, and if any of the above questionnaires helped resolve the issue,
Mark this post as an "Accepted Solution".
Good luck.
