RAM: 16GB DDR4

STORAGE: 512GB SSD + 32GB Optane

Display: 4K AMOLED

 

I have banding on the left and middle of my 4K OLED display

 

Should I return it.

I suggest you get it replaced since it is brand new.

 

You can either returned it to the place of purchase or contact HP Support for Service Options

I'd suggest, try updating the BIOS. Download and install the BIOS from this link

 

Let me know how that goes.

I am not very confident with BIOS updates for HP laptops. The last time I did a BIOS update on a HP device (3 years ago), it just froze during update and didn't progress. The device is bricked and unusable.

@KrazyToad I returned this device and got a new one. The new one also has the same issue.

I also completed a BIOS update and it didn't fix it.
