Hi,
I just bought my PC a few days ago and I'm trying to connect a second monitor to it via USB C. It is supposedly a thunderbolt 4, display port 1.4a so I understood that this would likely be backwards compatible with usb c docks and various adaptors.
I've now tested it with a powerd dock, a non powered dock and a simple usb c to HDMI adaptor to working monitors. These all work with other PCs. Just tested. What can possibly be going wrong here?
The laptop is HP15SEQ30. Any ideas?

Officeworks is a liar. Your machine actually is an HP Laptop 15s-eq2230AU, its specs
https://support.hp.com/lt-en/document/c08724471
It ONLY has a hopeless USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate (supports data transfer only and does not support charging or external monitors) port which is NOT a Thunderbolt port at all.
Regards.
